Margaret Evans Price (1888 - 1973) was a Western New York artist, painter, illustrator, writer, and muralist. She was primarily known for the many childrens books that she wrote and illustrated or collaborated on, murals,frescobs, still life, animals, historical, figures and portrature. She worked in oils, watercolors and pen & ink.
In 1930, THE FISHER PRICE TOY COMPANY was founded by Irving L. Price and Herman G. Fisher. Mrs Price was the first art director and designed puh-pull toys for the opening line, based on characters from her childrens books.
Vogue has been creating a doll for each of the last six years based on one of Margaret Evans Price's illustrations. For 2009/2010, the selected doll is "GINNY TRICK OR TREATS", and was first introduced by Linda Gorog of East Aurora, New York at her annual "Lunch at the Roycraft" event.
